ArticleAbstract
Objectives: This study aims to examine the Quranic textual connections to the occasions of revelation, which, as demonstrated in this research, cannot be overlooked when contemplating, interpreting, and understanding the logic behind the verses of the Holy Quran. The occasion of revelation always represents a story rooted in reality. Consequently, linking Islamic rulings to events, people, times, and places aids in instilling knowledge. This study emphasizes the importance of the occasion of revelation in questioning the Quranic discourse, revealing its secrets and implications, and thus, it is a significant aspect of the sciences of the Quran and Quranic hermeneutics. Methods: The study adopts a linguistic analytical approach to examine the verses about hypocrites in Surat At-Tawbah, focusing on the harmony between form and content. The form is based on the phonological structure as well as the linguistic structure, which encompasses two levels: morphological and grammatical/syntactic. The content, on the other hand, is associated with the text's lexical and semantic purposes. Results: The analytical approach, relying on the two aforementioned levels of form and content, reveals that employing syntax (grammar) is crucial in determining the semantic significance and identifying points of discrepancy in the verses while adhering to strict structural rules, thereby indicating specific connotations related to the occasions of revelation. Conclusions: The study recommended the need for identifying the root causes of the occasions of revelation is essential because it helps determine the context of the Quranic verses and the circumstances surrounding them.
